The Campaign Officer will take lead responsibility for at least one campaign and will have an understanding of environment issues in the ACT, campaign methods, community education and media.
The Project Officer - Community Engagement in Conservation – is a full time position funded through the National Heritage Trust to June 2008. The position will take lead responsibility for planning and implementing a community education project with a focus on the newly developing areas of Gungahlin adjacent to the nature reserves of Mulligan’s Flat and Goorooyaroo. Good communication and community engagement skills are essential.
The Project Officer – Biosphere Reserve Proposal – is a short-term project, either full-time for 10 weeks or part-time over a longer period. The project will undertake community and stakeholder engagement and consultations regarding the proposal to nominate the ACT as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
The Project Officer – Natural Heritage Project – is a short term, part-time position. The position will work with the ACT Department of Education and Training to produce teaching resources on natural heritage and prepare citations or ‘draft entries’ for Heritage Place Listing for natural heritage sites. The position requires good written communication skills, project management skills and an understanding of biodiversity/ecology.
There is potential to combine the two short-term / part-time project positions for a suitable applicant.
