Join Parks in the hunt for Orange Hawkweed in Kosciuszko this summer
 
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is preparing to hunt down Orange Hawkweed infestations in the Jagungal Wilderness Area of Kosciuszko National Park and they are seeking volunteers to help. Orange Hawkweed is a NSW Class 1 Noxious Weed that has the potential to devastate the natural landscape of Kosciuszko National Park and surrounding agricultural lands.
NPWS Project Officer Jo Caldwell will be conducting eight rounds of volunteer surveys between December 3 and February 8 and these run from Monday to Thursday. Ms Caldwell said there were seven known locations of Orange Hawkweed in Kosciuszko, which together have a total of around 300…
