Volunteers needed for frog survey

Subject: Volunteering

To whom it may concern,

My name is Liz Noble. I am a project officer for the Canberra Environment Centre who is currently coordinating a Community Water Grant which will be used to improve Marymeads (in Narrabundah) water usage.

The project is only in its inception and the first step will be doing an audit of all the residences before we can decide exactly what works will be undertaken. But we have plans at this point to harvest rainwater and recycle greywater and hopefully create a frog bog. When we are at a stage where we have a much clearer idea of what needs (and can) be done, there will be a demand for volunteers to help us realise this, given the grant is not large enough to pay professionals for everything.

It was in the recruiting of volunteers that caused me to contact the Southern ACT Catchment group. I was hoping you might be able to make it known to your volunteers that the Canberra Environment Centre and Marymead are looking for volunteers over the following months and are particularly looking for people who have some experience of water systems and frog habitats. If you think you may be able to assist me in bringing volunteers together to help complete some of the earthworks, planting or irrigating that the project will require, I would greatly appreciate it if you could contact me.

I am usually at the Environment Centre on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays on 62480885 or via email.

Thank you, Liz.
