National Recovery Plan for the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens
04-February-2016For your information, the Commonwealth Minister for the Environment has approved the National Recovery Plan for the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens Ecological Community and the plan is now in place under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The National Recovery Plan for the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens Ecological Community provides for the research and management actions necessary to stop the decline, and support the recovery, of the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens ecological community in order to maximise its chances of long-term survival in nature. The ecological community occurs in permanently wet sites in high rainfall alpine, sub-alpine and montane areas of New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. This recovery plan addresses the recovery of the ecological community across its full range.
